Ennen asennuksen aloittamista voit tarkistaa Järjestelmävaatimukset LibreOfficen asentamiseksi Windows-järjestelmään.
Jos olet yritys- tai julkishallinnon käyttäjä, lue lisää tietoja asennuksesta ja käyttöönotosta keskitetysti hallituissa ympäristöissä.
Jos sinulla on jo tietokoneessasi vanhempi versio LibreOfficesta, sinun ei tarvitse poistaa sitä, jos asennat uudemman version. Vanha versio poistetaan automaattisesti. Kaikki asetuksesi pysyvät myös tallessa, joten niitä ei tarvitse määrittää uudelleen.
1. Lataa LibreOffice-asennuspaketti.
Tallenna asennuspaketti haluamaasi kansioon, esimerkiksi työpöydälle. Kaksoisnapsauta asennuspakettia asennuksen aloittamiseksi. Windows pyytää varmistuksen, haluatko varmasti suorittaa asennusohjelman. Kun vahvistat tämän, asennusohjelma näyttää viereisen tervetulotoivotuksen, jossa kerrotaan, että asennus voidaan aloittaa.
Napsauta ”Seuraava”.
2. Kerro nimesi ja organisaatiosi. Asennusohjelma kysyy nimeäsi ja organisaatiotasi. Näitä tietoja ei ole pakko antaa. Jos haluat, täyty pyydetyt tiedot, tai jätä kentät tyhjiksi. Voit myös valita, haluatko asentaa LibreOfficen tietokoneesi kaikkien käyttäjien käytettäväksi (tämä on oletusasetus ja tyypillisesti hyvä valinta).
Jatka napsauttamalla ”Seuraava”.
3. Choose the kind of installation you want:
Another dialog box opens to give you a choice as to whether you want a default installation, or whether you want to choose special locations and components. If you want a default installation, just press “Next”. If you want to make special choices, click on “Custom” and then press “Next”.
4.If you want a custom installation you may now choose your components.
Components can be modules, additonal filters, but also language packs. In fac that's the point, you can choose the language packs you want to be installed. English and the language of your operating system are selected by default. Also, all dictionaries are selected by default. You may want to select only those which you actually need. You can also deselect unwanted extensions. Make your selections, and press “Next”.
5. Tell LibreOffice if you want it to open Microsoft Office documents by default. 
Another dialog box opens, inviting you to choose whether to open Microsoft Office documents with LibreOffice. By default, this feature is not enabled. If you want use LibreOffice to open Microsoft Office documents in future, put a checkmark in all three checkboxes.
6. Create a shortcut on your desktop and you're ready to go
Another dialog box opens, asking you whether a shortcut to open LibreOffice should be placed on your desktop. The default option is to create a shortcut. Make a choice and then press “Install”.
7. LibreOffice is installing:
When the installation process has completed, a final dialog box opens to inform you that LibreOffice is now installed. Press “Finish”.
8. LibreOffice is ready!
